On February 7th, 2008, so even if you decided to not take notice of the somewhat questionable casting for the wide screen or film version of the Bringing Down the House, if you are an avid reader of the book, you can not help but immediately notice that there seems to be a minimum amount that remains of the original and enjoyable story of an organization of "math geeks" who transformed to become formidable card sharks.
Sony Entertainment just recently launched the official web site for the "21 movie" starring Jim Sturgess, Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey. The "21" official site features a lot of video clips that you can watch and a lot of things that you can download. Surprisingly, it will not give you a chance to play blackjack. The "21" movie focuses on the six MIT students that joined the blackjack team, who have intensely studied to become experts on the game and card counting and take on casino facilities in Las Vegas for the chance to win in the game.
But casino employees became suspicious of the team and tried to bust out the team by any means necessary. Jim Sturgess play Ben Campbell in the movie, a genius in numbers who is having difficulty paying his credits. He is recruited to join the team by his own professor, who was played by Kevin Spacey. As expected, the good times did not last for the team. Ben Campbell starts losing the grip on his life and his professor and his teammates turned him in as the casinos are starting to become suspicious of their movements.
Some critics say that the movie is just like Oceans 11 and the book is more interesting compared with the movie. The movie will come out of the theaters on March 28th, 2008.
