On October 26th, 2007, PartyGaming, the owner of PartyPoker has experienced a 70 percent increase in their online casino members' from the previous year, the overall 3rd quarter results were $115.7 million.
Earlier this year, PartyGaming acquired Intercontinental Online Gaming Empire Online for $66.6 million and those buyouts have pushed the profit numbers of PartyGaming for the year. Usually, the game of choice by the customers is blackjack but PartyGaming has slowly weaned out their players from blackjack and encouraged them to try out roulette and other casino games aside from blackjack.
Poker profits from PartyGaming suffered a 3 percent decline but that is widely expected since the company was affected by the lack of new members from the United States after the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act or the UIGEA was passed more than a year ago.
The new member registration of PartyGaming also suffered a 14 percent decline from last year but it is also expected since the 3rd quarter of the year is really slow for new player registrations. The sports betting division of PartyGaming saw a remarkable increase during the 2nd quarter. It was pushed by the football season.
