The first season of the Ultimate Blackjack Tour (UBT), currently a very popular television show, announced that they have found another partner that will broadcast their games on TV, WGN. The first 10 episodes of the first season's Blackjack tournament have begun airing on WGN every Sunday, beginning January 21, 2007 at 9:00 EST/6:00 p.m. PST and 1:00 a.m. EST/10:00 PST. Larry Kopald, the Game Manager and Chief Marketing Officer of the Ultimate Blackjack Tournament, said that the UBT has achieved some pretty good ratings since their launch September 2006 at another station.
But with WGN's success in promoting franchise shows in their network, they are confident that the show will reach a larger audience. The weekend programming of the WGN has been consistently popular with the viewing public and with the addition of the UBT in their weekly line-up, they can now even attract a lot of younger viewers. The 10 episode run of the Ultimate Blackjack Tour will showcase the best Blackjack players in the world against the dealer. Season 1 will also include 2 blackjack specials, like the Ladies of Blackjack, which will feature top class players like Annie Duke, Jennifer Tilly, Monica Reeves and Erica Schoenburg.
The other season special is the Legends of Blackjack, which will feature Blackjack Greats like Kenny Einiger, "Hollywood" Dave Stann, Anthony Curtis and others in a head-to-head competition in the game of Blackjack. This show will also feature a mix of Blackjack and Poker players, like Freddy Deeb, Antonio Esfandiari, David "Devilfish" Ulliott, Stanford Wong and many others, which will try to compete with each other to win thousands of dollars in cash.
