Seminole Tribe Reviews Gaming Proposal Approve by the Legislature

On May 15th, 2009, the gaming ball is now in the Seminole Indian Tribe's court. The state's legislature on May 8th, 2009 offered a gaming proposal that would give the Indian tribe to exclusively feature blackjack and other casino tables at the Hollywood Hard Rock Casino and Hotel, Tampa Hard Rock, Seminole Coconut Creek and the Seminole tribe's thirty year-old casino facility in Hollywood, Florida.

Currently, the Indian tribe offers blackjack at the two Hard Rock casinos and its Immokalee casino in Naples. Seminole officials are collaborating with Governor Charlie Crist towards either unconditional acceptance, complete rejection or counter gaming proposal by the August 31st, 2009 deadline the Florida legislature set. The gaming compact also affects Florida's horse racing tracks, dog racing tracks and jai-alai frontons.

The part that permits for no-limit poker games and scales down taxes on slot machines at pari-mutuels from fifty percent to thirty-five percent would not take effect until there is a gaming compact with the tribe. Aside from that, the Seminole casino facility in Coconut Creek is featuring another option for players to win a Mini-Cooper next week. The gaming facility has bought newspaper inserts with bard codes and the Sun Sentinel will place in Thursday's newspapers.

One insert has bar code that will allow the player to win a Mini Cooper. Participants will have from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursday through May 23rd, 2009 to check their Sun Sentinel insert at the casino facility. There are also ten inserts good for $1,00 each and another one hundred will award $100 each.
