"CBS is the perfect partner for this venture." These are the words of Houston Curtis, Ultimate blackjack Tour executive producer. Ultimate Blackjack Tour is happy that CBS is the network where their show will be aired.
"After meeting with the top broadcast and cable outlets in the country, we consider it the ultimate validation of our concept to be associated with one of the world's foremost leaders in sports programming," Curtis added.
CBS is behind the game poker; their last show for World Series of Poker was that of the 1970s, it was the International Poker Champion. But in blackjack, they can't seem to have too much. They don't want to miss blackjack for this is the most popular game of all time.
"Poker has gone crazy. Now you have another tournament game of skill. The UBT is going to be huge," said Phil Hellmut, the ten-time WSOP Champion. According to Annie Duke, who liked the new challenge set by the game of blackjack, "The UBT has figured out how to make blackjack exciting for television and I'm absolutely hooked. It was a blast to play and equally exciting to watch."
The first season of the Ultimate Blackjack Tour will start to air on September 16, 2006. It could be a very interesting show since 'Hollywood' Dave and Hellmuth will be there. The game is a fast paced action with a new format of elimination.
